Reporting to the Manager, Demand Planning, the primary role of the Demand Planner is to oversee the forecasting process that drives the production and distribution planning of our finished goods as well as the purchasing of our raw materials and consumables. The Demand Planner will require a close communication and collaboration with the executive team, sales, customer service, finance, and marketing departments. This role will entail maintaining a sales and operations plan (S&OP) with the leaders of the above-mentioned departments.
In addition, this role will require assisting in the implementation of a new ERP system. The ideal candidate is experienced with MRP/ERP systems and has a sound knowledge of forecasting, planning and supply chain processes.
Responsibilities
- Develop 12-month rolling forecasts at multiple levels of aggregation using a variety of statistical methods including regression, time series etc.;
- Weekly data analysis and cleansing to identify and log anomalies, special events and other variables that should be taken into consideration when finalizing the forecast;
- Collaborate with sales managers to gather information such as trending products, depot stocking strategies, competitor analysis and any other intelligence that is pertinent to the sales forecast;
- Maintain the monthly sales and operations plan (S&OP) with other company leaders and executives with the objective of aligning on sales targets, establishing sales strategies, and identifying external variables that will impact the forecast;
- Analyze deviations between actual sales vs. forecasts (forecast accuracy) to understand variables that are affecting the demand;
- Assist in establishing Min-Max, inventory turnover, service level and overstock targets to meet company standards in all Techo-Bloc distribution centers & establish a production capacity plan which includes production hours and product mix per plant;
- Identify and assist in resolving conflicts with supply, demand, and availability of capacity & suggest product life cycles such as forecasts for new products and identifying products that should be discontinued.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, statistics, or any other related field;
- Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in demand planning and analytics;
- Statistical and forecasting knowledge;
- Experience using R, Python and VBA (an asset);
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, v-lookup, cubes, graphs etc.);
- Experience using MRP/ERP systems;
- APICS – CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management) is an asset;
- Very high attention to details and commitment in meeting deadlines;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in French and English (English is required to work with employees in the United States).
