Duties:
The Faculty of Education has the following opening for a regular full-time faculty member. The successful candidate will participate in the Faculty's ongoing efforts to enhance the teaching and learning environment in the area of incorporating Indigenous perspectives and worldviews.
The successful candidate will be a part of our team which strives to provide an inclusive educational environment that supports and encourages preservice teachers to be professionals focused on equity and education for all. The position includes the teaching of Principles of Teaching and Learning (Elementary Focus) in the Bachelor of Education Program, and three additional courses which could include:
EDTE 520 Curriculum and Instruction: Language Arts (3 credits)
EDTE 330 Issues in Aboriginal Education (3 credits)
Depending on the expertise of the candidate, other/additional courses may be available.
The successful candidate will be expected to become highly engaged in educational leadership activities within the Faculty of Education which may include collaboration on curriculum design, the development and implementation of innovative teaching practices and other teaching and learning initiatives, particularly in the area of Indigenous pedagogies.

Candidates must demonstrate commitment to teaching, learning and student success through scholarship and institutional service. Successful candidates will participate in a wide range of activities outside the classroom, including student support; institutional, faculty and departmental committee meetings and other initiatives; and professional activities in keeping with their disciplines in and outside the institution.
Required Qualifications:
A doctorate degree in a related field (i.e., Teacher Education, Indigenous Education, Curriculum and Pedagogy) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
