What is the Opportunity?
Aecon is currently seeking a CAD Drafter/Calculator to join the Aecon Geomatics Team. The CAD Drafter will be responsible for providing layout information to all aspects of a construction project with a high level of accuracy, ensuring the design criteria is adhered to and well documented. Job sites can be located in various areas such as, but not limited to; Central Ontario, GTA or Barrie.
What You’ll Do Here:
- Provide calculations to field staff
- Prepare 3D models for use in GPS and Machine Control applications
- Prepare engineering and survey plans
- Maintain accurate survey records, documentation and submittals
- Provide layout information at various stages of construction
- Calculate volumes using various software and methods
- Provide clear communication with client in a professional manner
- Maintain as-built records
- Provides back-up support for other Surveying staff
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by his/her supervisor
- Performs such other duties and responsibilities depending on the type of job i.e. grading, structures, paving or rehab
What You Bring to the Team:
- Post-secondary education in Geomatics or design field
- Knowledge of survey practices and standards
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in Drafting or calculator roll
- Strong computer skills and proficient in the use of Microsoft office, Autocad, Civil 3D
- Experience with Microstation and Inroads software
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and organizational skills
- Ability to read and interpret plans and CAD drawings
- Experience with paving and road infrastructure projects and asset
