Job description

We are seeking an experienced Benefits Coordinator to join our team, providing essential technical and administrative support for our Benefits and RSP programs.

The role will be based out of either our Sherwood Park or Calgary office, depending on the candidate's location and preference.

As the Benefits Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in administering processes related to benefits and retirement savings programs at the corporate level. Working closely with the Total Rewards Manager, you will ensure the seamless execution of these programs, supporting our employees in accessing and maximizing their benefits packages. What would you be doing?

• Administer various employee benefits programs, such as group health, dental and vision, life insurance, and wellness benefits and RSPs.
• Partic ipates in HR/Payroll project work, such as the development of new initiatives for a unit, division, or the organization (ie. New benefit offers).
• Assists with or leads in compiling data and generating various reports as requested or assigned (ie. Benefit program use).
• Contributes to the improvement of programs, provides insights, reviews delivery and administration challenges.
• Verify the calculation of the monthly premium statements for all group insurance policies and maintain statistical data relative to premiums, claims and costs.
• Resolve administrative problems with the carrier representatives.
• Assist Manager in obtaining statistics and information in renewal process of any health, life and retirement plans.
• Ensure distribution of required employee notices.
• Assist Manager in complet ing benefits reporting requirements.

Does this sound like you?

• 1-2 years of benefits administration experience.
• College diploma, certificate in Canadian Benefit Plans, Certified Employee Benefit Specialist or equivalent considered an asset.
• Competent and knowledgeable with computer software like Excel, Word, Project, Visio, PowerPoint and HRIS platforms.
• Extensive knowledge of employee benefit plans and group RSPs.
• Must demonstrate a collaborative attitude when working with members of own team and others.
• Competent with organizational techniques and skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize work, meet deadlines and achieve desired results.
• Basic knowledge and competence with business units, operations a nd services.
