Don’t have a Class 2 License? No problem!
SD48 will pay for you to obtain your license & air brake endorsement.

JOB TITLE:School Bus Driver
LOCATION:Whistler, BC
TYPE OF EMPLOYMENT:On Call / Casual
JOB SUMMARY:- Rate of Pay: $30.04 per hour with an additional $1.25 for every hour work before 9 am and / or after 4 pm.
- Flexible schedule – School bus driving is a perfect position for individuals who love the opportunity to ski and bike during the day while still able to maintaining an income.
- The position is on call: When called to work candidates would be expected to work a split driving 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon between:
- 7:15 am – 9:15 am
- 2:00 pm- 4:00 pm.
- On Call casual drivers must have knowledge of the Whistler area as they can be called upon to driver any of the bus routes.
- Willing to pay for Class 2 and Air Brake Endorsement for those that do not currently hold their license.
THE PERFECT CANDIDATE – Qualifications & Skills:- Dedicated, friendly and patient individual who enjoys working around students!
- Completion of Grade 11 and over six (6) months up to and including one (1) year related driving experience.
- Valid Class 2 BC Driver’s License with air endorsement.
- Current First Aid Certificate or equivalent
- Knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Materials information Systems (WHMIS) and WorkSafe BC (WSBC) safety procedures.
- Candidates will require to pass a criminal record check.
- Training may be available if required.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:- School bus drivers responsibilities include:
- Carrying out pre-trip checks on the school bus and documenting findings.
- Supervising and safely transporting students to and from schools and/or on extra-curricular bus runs as directed, while operating a school bus.
- Keeping to a set route and schedule timings.
