Here’s what you will do as Warehouse & Logistics Specialist :
Reporting to the Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for the warehousing (onsite and 3PL), storage, distribution, inventory management and shipping and receiving operations of the company while also supporting the overall supply chain operations to ensure the smooth flow of the VM Food Group product line.
Warehouse Inventory Management - Develop an inventory execution plan to ensure efficient product flow;
- Create and maintain product codes in system and provide necessary updates to key stakeholders;
- Maintain appropriate raw material level to meet the production schedules. Anticipate production material needs and optimize the distribution of inventory;
- Manage regular cycle counts and maintain inventory reports for both production and procurement;
- Inform and guide warehouse team of upcoming requirements and provide inbound and outbound warehousing support (onsite and 3PL);
- Analyze root causes of inventory issues and provide resolutions;
- Identify & stage inventory (raw material, work in process and finished product) appropriately within the plant and based on the production plan;
- Maintain and ensure accuracy of the paperwork required to process finished goods shipment out of the plant;
- Communicate any complex inventory matters or food safety concerns to management promptly;
- Assist in inventory risk assessment and mitigation activities;
- Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers.
Logistics
- Facilitate efficient and organized inbound and outbound shipments with both Canadian and US 3rd Party Warehouses or Distribution centres throughout North America;
- Arrange transportation, and orchestrate deliveries to meet customer demand with little to no delay;
- Manage inbound/outbound logistics of goods in an organized and efficient manner;
- Receive raw materials and packaging and coordinate delivery accordingly; ensure paperwork is processed within required timelines;
- Prepare loads/orders for shipment to North American customers;
- Take appropriate measures to avoid quality control issues for both inbound and outbound shipments;
- Ensure warehouse capacity & inventory levels are kept at optimal & cost-effective levels at 3PL and VMFG warehouse;
- Manage activities throughout the order fulfilment and transportation cycle to ensure established deadlines are met;
- Identify and implement continuous process improvement opportunities to increase efficiency, optimize materials and achieve company inventory management goals;
- Special projects as assigned for the overall benefit of the Company.
Here’s what you’ll need to be successful as our Warehouse & Logistics Specialist:
- Degree or diploma in supply chain management and/or logistics management, business administration or other relevant field;
- Minimum 3 years experience in international warehouse logistics and customs using all modes, and inventory management (planning and scheduling), ideally with at least 1 year in food manufacturing and/or Consumer Packaging. CITT courses/certifications an asset;
- Strong understanding of warehousing, inventory management, logistics, project management and manufacturing;
- Proficient in MS Office (including Excel) and MRP systems. Experience with MRP implementations an asset;
- Exceptional communicator with the ability to influence and effectively present and clarify concerns and concepts to various audiences and influence stakeholders;
- High sense of ownership to see tasks and projects to completion;
- Problem solving skills with initiative to investigate, prioritize and resolve situations independently;
- Strong project management and organizational skills to prioritize and handle multiple tasks, deadlines and changing priorities;
- Agile, adaptable and you thrive in an environment where priorities can change in an instant;
- A strong sense of urgency with the ability to work under pressure while coordinating multiple orders and tasks concurrently;

- Ability to play a key role in supporting and promoting Food Safety & Quality standards of the company;
