Position Overview:
Adecco is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Estimator for Calgary's one of the best home developers. They develop Single Family homes, Duplex homes, Townhouses.
The Estimator will assist with take-offs per job, on-going management of master models, purchase orders, accurate estimates, and job costing. This would include a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: Estimator- Residential Construction ResponsibilitiesPrepare and analyze budgets for model houses
Discuss with various trades at every scope to obtain pricing
Prepare take-offs for various scopes of work with respect to the building process.
Review plans and issue purchase orders to various trades at each scope to ensure site team has all purchase orders issued.
Monitor and manage the purchasing ERP suite for model and item costs, as well as push all purchase orders to respective suppliers and scheduling software.
Assist in managing the scheduling software suite from the office to ensure field team has what is needed.
Prepare and complete take offs from residential blueprints.
Plan review of residential blueprints to ensure spec level is kept.
Implementation of software and processes to ensure efficiencies are kept through the ERP software suites.
Source new suppliers & materials through business networking.
Assist with tendering process from start to finish.
Maintain awareness of building codes, municipality changes and construction techniques
Ensure invoices are processed and kept current.
Support construction team and trade/supplier partners through any construction issues or discrepancies.
Develop and foster strong supplier relationships.
Ensure timely and accurate completion of production schedules & budgets for construction.
Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
Effective time management skills, top-notch analytical skills and ability to prioritize to meet multiple deadlines.
Proficient of the Residential Construction Industry
Previous experience as a residential Estimator
Excellent with technology & in-depth experience with MS Office, Outlook and Excel & Spreadsheets
Ability to review architectural blueprints and prepare take-off measurements and prepare cost budgeting reports.
Experience using a Purchasing & Scheduling ERP System (preferably Homefront & BuildPro) is an asset.
Experience with PlanSwift and BlueBeam is an asset.
Works well in a team or independently
Team attitude and willingness to take on jobs.
Negotiation skills are an asset especially when discussing with third party trades and contractors.
Experience with project planning, cost management and a desire to learn about project management concepts.
A background in accounting or finance will be an asset, a Post-Secondary Degree, and/or a CET in the respective field of purchasing, estimation and/or construction accounting.
