This role sits within Laurentian Bank
As a member of the Business Services team, the incumbent will be asked to assimilate the knowledge required for understanding, preparing, and drafting commercial credit files. He/she will assist the Senior Manager in managing finance portfolio risk. By participating in business model analysis, financial analysis, risk analysis and guarantee assessments, the incumbent will serve as a key resource for the Account Manager, Business Development, and his/her Assistant Vice President. The Underwriter, will have to complete the following tasks:

Responsibilities
- Complete the underwriting of new transactions and conduct annual reviews of files and amendments within the prescribed deadlines.
- Enter the client's financial statements and financial projections in the risk rating calculator.
- Perform financial analyses based on financial statements and financial projections, perform sensitivity analyses, and make comparisons with industry standards for this business segment.
- Identify and analyze risks associated with client activities.
- Follow up on irregularities in client portfolios.
- Follow up on the implementation of securities in accordance with credit authorization conditions.
- Participate in meetings and conference calls with clients.
- Be involved in the integrity and compliance processes (Code of Conduct, internal policies).
- Perform the work according to the practices, policies, and specific goals, while complying with current legislation and the Bank's policies, programs, and processes.
Qualifications
- University education in a relevant field and at least three to five years of experience
- Superior writing skills
- Ability to work in a team environment; a positive attitude
- Intellectual curiosity and critical thinking skills
- Strong interest in finance and good analytical skills
- Knowledge of the Office suite
- Good spoken and written communication skills, English an asset
