Intermediate Engineering Designer – Municipal Infrastructure
Location: Surrey BC
Job Summary:
We're in search of a Civil Engineering Designer for our reputable Civil Engineering consultancy client in their Surrey office. The successful candidate will work as part of a project team on different design assignments focusing primarily on municipal infrastructure.
Must Have:
- A Civil Engineering Diploma or Degree from an Accredited Institution.
- Be eligible for future registration as either an AScT C.E.T. C.Tech. or P.Eng. within the Province of work (British Columbia).
- Experience using Civil3D and related applications.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
Nice to Have:
- Experience in the construction administration/coordination.
- Experience in the civil design industry with a key focus on land development and municipal infrastructure.
- Familiarity with federal provincial and municipal legislation codes and bylaws.
- Familiarity with tender preparation contract award and cost estimating.
Responsibilities:
- Perform detailed design tasks to support municipal engineering projects involving pump stations roads storm and sanitary sewers watermains and related topics.
- Technical analysis of the municipal infrastructure components.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings using Civil 3D and related applications.
- Perform site and lot grading roadway designs storm sewer sanitary sewer and water distribution system designs to support the project site.
- Prepare Erosion/Sediment Control Plans.
- Prepare quantity takeoffs and cost estimates.
- Compile asbuilt records for design and record drawings.
- Prepare contract documents for project tendering and execute project design drawings.
- Prepare formal response letters to approving agencies addressing development engineering comments.
