Standard Work Hours: Mon - Fri | 7:45 am - 4:00 pm | 40 hours per week
Salary Range: $57,931- $75,295 per annum
YOUR FOCUS
Reporting to the Manager of Projects, this position is responsible for the detailed, day-to-day supervision of specific Construction & renovation projects. This position is also responsible for the Asbestos Management Program (AMP) and other hazardous materials as required.
- Prepare estimates for various projects.
- Implement the requirements of the Asbestos Management Program (AMP).
- Manage, oversee and coordinate assigned project/maintenance for Indoor Air Quality activities. These duties would include reporting on hazards like lead paint, mould, mercury spills and other issues related to disturbances to air quality during day-t o-day operations.
- Provide estimates prepared from tender ready documents, preliminary drawings, in-house sketches, or conceptual drawings.
- Manage a comprehensive system to actively and stringently control all asbestos containing materials in University buildings, and all activities that may disturb such materials including maintenance, alteration and repair operations.
- Establish customer department users' requirements, develop concepts, preliminary estimates, develop designs and specifications, prepare project estimates, prepare tender documents for competitive bidding where required, tender project and supervise project.
- Make frequent, regular site visits; monitoring and documenting job progress, adjusting as required and keeping the customer informed.
- Attend or organize job meetings as required.
- Take appropriate actions, including issuing a "stop work order" as may be required to any University employee or outside contractor whare asbestos-related procedures and safety precautions as outlined in the "code of Practice for Working with Materials Containing Asbestos in New Brunswick", the AMP are being contravened.
- Respond to questions and requests for various projects and hazardous building materials related information from the University Community.

- With the assistance of supervisors/forepersons and site coordinators, ensuring the storage, transportation, and disposal of any waste generated during related activities conducted by site personnel or contractors is completed in accordance with provincial requirements.
- Other related duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Diploma from a recognized Community College or institute of technology in Civil Engineering or equivalent training or experience.
- 5 years progressively responsible experience in project management including conceptual design, contract administration, specification, and public tender.
- Experience working with environment hazards and experience in handling a full range of asbestos issues including Tye 1, 2 & 3 abatements.
- A combination of the above education and experience may be considered.
Additional Strengths
- Experience in design, management, and contract administration of multi-disciplinary projects.
- Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety.
- Be able to work with individuals at various levels within the organization.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Proficient in computer aided drafting (minimum AutoCAD release 12).
- Ability to plan, establish priorities and manage large volumes of project requests within tight timelines.
