Randstad is proud to partner with our well-established client in Ottawa on an Estimator position across Heavy Civil. Our client is a reputable heavy construction and engineering organization who has been in operation for decades, consistently growing their project scope and team. This is an opportunity for a passionate Estimator who wants to continually grow their skill set and experience with an organization who values their employees. This position is for individuals with experience across infrastructure, bridges, underground, roads and sewers work.

Responsibilities
· Preparing estimates and proposals for planning, organizing, and scheduling project work
· Determining the total cost of construction project materials, equipment, utilities, and labour
· Seek estimates from vendors and subcontractors.
· Generate estimates from fundamental principles
· Manage all stages of the tender process.
· Handle bid closings and proposal submissions.
· Facilitate the transition of projects to field operation teams.
· Maintain a directory of suppliers and contractors.
· Establish and nurture professional relationships with subcontractors, construction personnel, supervisors, and the estimating team.
· Regularly reporting to Management and keeping clients updated on the project status
Qualifications
·Minimum of 2 years working as an Estimator within the Civil sector
·Experience in estimating principles and practices; planning, execution, pricing, and vendor/subcontractor coordination
·Infrastructure, bridges, underground, roads and sewers work experience
·Capable of deriving cost calculations for all tender aspects
·Well versed in estimating package software
·Knowledge of MTO advantageous, not required
·Knowledge of CCDC advantageous
