POSITION SUMMARY

The Process Improvement Developer acts as the technical lead for multi departmental projects creating solutions that meet market needs. Responsible for designing fully functioning, debugged code with required documentation that meets development goals. This individual will conduct cycle time analysis and other system audits to verify current production rates and target potential improvements, as well as investigate procedural improvements.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Design, code, and test major features in collaboration with Team Members, and technical team to deliver complex changes.
• Define, design, and implement, multi-tiered object-oriented distributed software applications.
• Maintain and modify existing applications.
• Perform maintenance programming for existing version.
• Perform custom programming as assigned.
• Fix defects and add features to software.
• Debug and test software implementation.
• Provide, design documents and documentation to ensure efficient maintenance and code reuse.
• Participate in the design and implementation of databases.
• Ensure the functionality, performance, scalability, reliability, realistic implementation schedules and system architecture for each assignment.
• Analyze, define, and improve various processes in office and warehouse environment
• Maintain and modify our database management and analysis.
• Develop business intelligence programs and processes.
• Interact with key partners and internal users regarding timelines, technical issues, and infrastructure integration.
• Provide recommendations for improvements in the overall development process.
• Implement software modules, on the embedded platform and analysis workstation.
• Stay current with trends, techniques, technology and other factors impacting the job.
• Actively participate in team meetings and offer recommendations /ideas on design projects.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

• Bachelor's degree or College Diploma in Computer Science or equivalent job experience.
• Minimum three 3 years' experience as Database Developer
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in a development role.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in requirements analysis, design, coding and unit testing of scalable, distributed, fault-tolerant applications in Operating Systems.
• Work experience in object-oriented design methodology and application development in JAVA and J2EE, including Servlets, JSP, JAVA Beans, JDBC preferred.
• Work experience with C/C++ preferred.
• Work experience in XML preferred.
• An understanding of the hardware-software boundary.
• Able to effectively communicate technical concepts to other technical staff members.
• Able to effectively communicate with non-technical members of the organization.
• Demonstrated aptitude for learning new technologies.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills as well as presentation skills.
