Job Description
The incumbent will provide Mental Health clinical services to adults displaying a wide variety of psychiatric, emotional or behavioral problems related to their mental health, and their families. These services will include individual, group and family counseling, and case management, through a combination of direct services, consultation, community resource development and education. The incumbent will work as part of an interdisciplinary team.
Job Qualifications Required Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing, Social Work, Chemical Dependency Studies, Psychometrician or Education
- Registered or eligible for registration with the appropriate licensing body
- Valid Class 5 driver's license
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - A demonstrated ability to meet and work with clients, utilizing sound judgment, tact, initiative and high standards of integrity and responsibility
- Ability to collect, record and report comprehensive client information accurately in verbal, written and electronic formats in accordance with professional standards and guidelines
- Ability to conduct client assessments and engage in effective treatment planning
- Ability to initiate, plan and conduct treatment groups and/or education for clients and in-service training for staff, caregivers, and other professionals
- Ability to provide individual, group and crisis management/stabilization counselling skills
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and manage time and stress
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in computer software (Word, Power Point, Excel, Access, Outlook)
- Sound knowledge of developmental theory, systems theory and the ability to distinguish normal and abnormal adaptive, emotional, development, personality and behavior functioning
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize.
Other Information - Field Hours
- Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement. HSAS seniority within the Saskatchewan Health Authority will be considered under the Selection Criteria.
Additional Information Shifts (days, evenings, nights) including actual hours, date of commencement and temporary end dates are for informational purpose only and may be subject to change. The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) requires a criminal record check (CRC) from every potential SHA team member. The CRC must be dated within the past six (6) months and be satisfactory to the SHA.
