Job description

Lineman/woman helper assist skilled tradespersons and perform labour activities in the installation, maintenance and repair of telecommunication of power cables and in other repair and service work settings. They are employed by a wide variety of manufacturing, utility service companies.

Move tools, equipment and other materials to and from work areas.
 Follow instructions from supervisor/lead hand.
 Assist in splicing overhead and underground communications and electric power
transmission cables
 Stringing and pulling wire cables.
 Installation of electrical equipment and Transformers.
 Assist in Overhead and underground conduit installation.
 Assist in Grounding systems and ground wire installation.
 Assist in Overhead pole installation.
 Installing overhead wiring to poles.

 Assist in repairing and maintaining stationary electric power generating and distribution
equipment.
 perform other laboring an elemental task as required.
 Other duties as required.

Employment requirements: -
 Ability to work with colleagues in a cooperative manner
 must be physically capable of performing the duties and responsibilities as described
 some secondary school education may be required
 on the job training is provided
 Ability to lift minimum of 45 lbs.
