Purpose
Liberty Utility’s SAP Application Services Team is responsible for the administration, development, support, and availability of the SAP landscape. The Team’s core mandate is to enable an efficient operation within Liberty Utilities as the company continues to transform/move its legacy systems to SAP and other ancillary applications.
This role is the functional subject matter expert and design architect for SAP Reporting and Analytics Cloud. This role provides strategic direction, expertise and perspective on all Reporting capabilities. He/she is accountable to understand, implement, and maintain the capabilities of integrated SAC and BW such that they are technically optimized and meet the requirements of the business. He/she is comfortable managing and integrating workstreams as reporting and analytics is cross-functional. The Leader thrives in a team-oriented environment, problem-solving and is a clear and effective communicator.
Accountabilities
- Report delivery from design through testing and deployment
- Defines reporting business requirements and process design
- Actively participate in the coordination of changes into SAC and SAP BW. Ensures all changes meet appropriate deadlines for development and testing, user sign off and approval prior to promotion to the productive environment.
- Collaborate with other areas of the LU Technology to plan integrated activities such as application upgrades, patch application and routine maintenance activities.
- Review new and existing systems design projects, changes and procurement or outsourcing plans for compliance with Reporting standards and architectural plans
- Manage and oversee the SAC, SAP BW (future) ensuring appropriate service levels are met, issues and escalations are resolved quickly, and operational procedures are followed in a satisfactory manner
- Effective communication of all issues/status of Operations Applications to all stakeholders
- Confer with end-users, clients, or senior management to define business requirements for complex systems and infrastructure development.
- Document the company’s existing Reporting architecture and technology portfolio; make recommendations for improvements and/or alternatives.
- Promotes the use of SAC, SAP BW within the LU business community, and ensures users are using the optimized tools, and best practice system capabilities.
- Develops technology roadmaps as it relates to Reporting and Analytics
- Provide high-level, as well as detailed cost estimates as warrented for all reporting options associated with any particular project/business objective
- Works with Service Provider to ensure appropriate ticket management
- Engage vendor relationships from a day-to-day perspective with respect to Enterprise Reporting
- Perform all performance reviews, development plans, coaching, mentoring, time recording approval, and overall management of any assigned staff and consultants
Education and Experience
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in SAP NetWeaver development and support and SAP implementation and design experience
- Minimum five (5) years of experience managing or architecting SAP SAC, SAP BW, ABAP Core Data Services, Fiori Analytical Query Development, and visualization stories
- Minimum of two (2) years of management experience demonstrating the ability to manage both employee and contracting resources (including on-site and off-shore)
- Experience in design, development and support of SAC reporting
- Expert level knowledge of SAP functionality, data integration, and implementation methodology for platforms including, but not limited to: SAP BW on HANA, SAC, Fiori,
- Intermediate to advanced level knowledge of SAP modules and how those modules can successfully be deployed to users through a SAC/Fiori environment
- Experience working with non-SAP data sources such as Click Scheduling, Itron AMI, PowerPlan
- Intermediate to advanced level knowledge and hands on experience with SAP analytics reporting and Dashboarding/Visualization such as SAC and BW/4HANA
- Intermediate level knowledge with SAP new dimensional UI tools and technology such as UI5/Fiori
- Hands on experience with SAP technology (Fiori, Dashboarding and Visualization) is highly desired
- Strong project management with SAP BI systems implementation knowledge & skills
- Strong analytical and technical communication skills
- Good knowledge of project planning.
- Good knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
- Good ability to capture and interpret the organization’s goals and objectives.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal, consultative, and presentational skills.
- Ability to conduct research into emerging technologies and trends, standards, and products as required.
- Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.
