Reporting to the Maintenance and Facility Manager, you will have the opportunity to be a part of a diverse team that strives towards improvement of production equipment and processes. A major focus is on developing, implementing, and auditing manufacturing practices and equipment as well as ownership of the Operational CAPEX portfolio.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Collaborate with the Operational Excellence Team to develop flexible or integrated manufacturing systems and procedures as well as conduct time studies and work simplification programs
- Support or lead coordination of projects (e.g. equipment rebuilds, renovations)
- Manage the CAPEX investment portfolio, producing accurate forecasts and ensuring projects completed according to schedule – Project Charters, Milestones, etc.
- Plan and design plant layouts and facilities
- Establish programs and conduct studies to enhance industrial health and safety; evaluating risks and hazards of machinery and equipment
- Study new machinery and recommend or select efficient combinations
What You Bring
- Mechanical or Industrial Engineering Degree or higher
- 3 or more years of proven experience in a Manufacturing Industry
- Previous project management experience with capital projects, PMP Certification is an asset
- Demonstrated understanding of mechanical and electrical fundamentals
- Well versed in equipment purchasing process ie. Bid process for services and parts, performing preliminary cost analysis, creating purchase orders, developing PMP
- Understanding of budgeting and performance management
- Knowledge of SAP or related software is an asset
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and health and safety regulations
- Excellent planning and presentation skills
- An eye for detail – planning for all possible outcomes thinking 2 steps ahead
- Computer savvy – exposure to PLC programming is an asset
- Excellent AutoCAD drafting skills
- Previous experience with regulatory bodies such as Canada Standards Association (CSA), Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA), Employment Standards Act (ESA) related to equipment and machinery is desirable
- Experience executing Pre-Start Health and Safety Reviews (PSHRs) and Safety Risk Assessments (SRAs)
- Ability to work independently and also collaboratively with multiple departments
- Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time from conception to release
