Location: Brantford – Paper Mill

Position: Maintenance Planner

Shift: Conventional Shift (days)

Hourly Rate of Pay:$34.64

Reporting to the Plant Engineer, the Maintenance Planner will be directly responsible for planning and scheduling maintenance work and activities needed to properly maintain all plan equipment and facilities. They will work closely with the Mechanical Lead Hand, Electrical Lead Hand, and MRO coordinator, to ensure maintenance work is planned and prioritized accordingly. 

What you will be doing:

• Plan and schedule all maintenance work that will drive a culture of zero injuries or breakdowns
• Use MP2 software daily to manage all work orders and preventive maintenance plans
• Ensure all maintenance jobs are planned and scheduled to ensure completion in a timely and efficient manner
• Plan and schedule all maintenance work two (2) weeks in advance and communicate to all affected parties
• Use MS Excel to prepare tie lines for planned outages
• Own and plan maintenance downtime activity to ensure all required work is completed safely, efficiently and according to schedule
• Ensure all parts are kitted and delivered to jobs
• Identify areas for improvement to include safety risks, PM task improvements and general departmental operating improvements
• Assist in creating plans for improvement efforts
• Understand the importance of Preventative/Predictive Maintenance and plan and schedule all related activities to support this approach
• Assist in troubleshooting of preventative maintenance issues
• Work closely with MRO coordinator to update spare parts lists in MP2 as required
• Perform other similar duties as assigned

We’d love to hear from you if you possess the following requirements:

• Good understanding of preventative maintenance skills and mechanical and electrical equipment
• Excellent organizational skills
• Strong level of computer skills and proficiency with MS Word and Excel
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Self-motivation and strong work ethic
• College certification in Engineering or related field is preferred
• Available to work conventional shift (days) and willing to work overtime, as required
