Job description
The Manager, Accounts Payable is responsible for overseeing all payment transactions, and payment processes while upholding financial policies thereby contributing to overall growth. This position will also serve as a liaison between the Accounts Payable team and external vendors, including lenders, and suppliers.

Responsibilities
Manage and supervise the accounts payable team and staff .
Maintain accounts payable and project accounting.
Ensure that systems, policies, and procedures adhere to company policies while functioning with accuracy and timeliness.
Ensure that the accounts payable and financial obligations are met efficiently.
Maintain a database of expenditures and provide reports when requested by supervisors.
Oversee all payment transactions such as wires, credit cards etc.
Manage data entry, validation, and processing of various types of invoices e.g. general overhead, subcontractor, and employee travel reimbursements.
Organize the status of all transactions taking place within the company and external vendors and contractors.
Standardize procedures to generate efficiency in-house and create internal templates to be used by finance teams.
Provide expert project leadership and guidance to team as SME.
Oversee the activities and performance of direct reports:
Provide direction, coaching and mentorship to the team.
Engage in the development of the team by coaching, providing feedback, identifying areas of growth and training opportunities.
Collaborate and support employees during the performance management process, meeting KPAs and career development planning.
Qualifications
This position has managerial responsibilities and direct reports.
5-8 years experience in Accounts Payable or similar role.
3-5 years experience managing and developing teams.
Experience working within a technical or engineering organization/knowledge of the high-technology industry is an asset.
Substantial ERP system experience.
Basic computer skills with prior experience working with accounting software like General Ledger software.
High accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Able to work well under pressure and respond to fast changing priorities and deadlines.
Strong project management skills; able to identify needs, develop effective solutions and manage projects through to completion.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including comfort with delivering presentations and training.
A strong team-player with the ability to engage with all levels of the organization.
Technical competence using software programs, including, but not limited to, Google Suite for business (Sheets, Docs, Slides).
Entrepreneurial mindset and comfortable in a flat organization.
Post-Secondary Diploma/Degree specialization in business administration, accounting, finance, or a related field.
