Our client, a leading Engineering organization in Canada is looking for 3D Piping Designer with 7-10 years’ experience in a similar role.The company, located in the West part of Toronto is growing its team and they need you.

 

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

·Assist in setting up Projects in Plant 3D for mechanical/piping modelling.

·Perform customization of tool palettes, symbols, piping components, pipe supports in Plant 3D.

·Setting up of Drawing Templates for isometrics and orthographic drawings.

·Preparation and maintenance of piping material specifications in Plant 3D using spec. editor.

·Troubleshooting of Plant 3D user problems.

·Preparation of 3D models, Isometrics, Piping GA drawings and detailed drawings

·Prepare and maintain data base driven line lists, valve lists, specialty items list, etc.

·Perform clash detection of models with other discipline models.

·Provide material quantity takeoffs (MTO’s) for estimating purposes or inclusion into bulk commodity purchases.

·Participate in 3D Model Reviews and Design Reviews

·Participate in interdisciplinary and vendor document review.

·Complete Piping Design and Layouts in accordance with Industry Practices

·Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure a timely and accurate flow of design information, while ensuring departmental and client standards are maintained.

·Working knowledge of applicable industry codes, standards, practices, and procedures involved with the piping discipline.

·Attend site visits and field walkdowns as required.

 

The Experience You Bring Will Include:

·Diploma in Engineering Design and Drafting Technology (Process Piping Major) or a Process Piping Drafting Certificate combined with relevant job experience.

·Minimum ten years of experience working on nuclear plant project and/or conventional industrial plants.

·Knowledge of Plant 3D Customization & AutoCAD.

·Experience in database-driven piping design and 3D modelling tools (e.g. Auto CAD, AutoCAD Plant 3D, AutoCAD MEP, SmartPlant3D, Navisworks)

·Experience with piping isometric drawing production.

·Knowledge of plant layout is an asset.

·Knowledge of industry and regulatory standards, regulations, and codes pertinent to the design and systems related to the project. In-depth knowledge of the design of piping systems for process and utility systems.

·Understanding of pipe support design requirements and movements.

·Experience working in the nuclear industry is an asset.

·Strong planning, time management and organizational skills, with strong multi-tasking skills;

·Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

·High fluency and proficiency in communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills;

·Proficiency in Microsoft Office-related software applications, i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook;

·Adaptability to change and thrives in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.

 

What You Need to do Now:

Required Skills / Experience

7-10 years experience as a 3D Piping Designer. Experience in the Nuclear industry is preferred; and a P.Eng would be desirable.

Demonstrate excellent technical skills and problem-solving capabilities, and be able to seek practical solutions to 3D piping design problems and operationd (e.g., procedures).

Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
