Transit Operator/Service Workers

This is a dual position consisting of work as both a Transit Operator and Service Worker. The Transit Operator is required to safely operate a variety of transit vehicles while demonstrating courtesy and respect towards customers and road users. The Service Worker is required to perform manual labour, clean and prepare buses, and provide temporary back up for transit operators. If you have strong communication and interpersonal skills, are an effective team member, and take pride in providing exceptional customer service, then this opportunity may be for you!

• You work well under stress, including working and driving under various weather conditions.
• You have the ability to use independent judgment to make sound decisions.
• You recognize that this role involves shift work (straight shifts or split shifts), including rotating days, evenings, nights, as well as weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Alberta Class 2 Driver's License with airbrake endorsement and an acceptable driving record.
• Valid First Aid certificate.
• Previous experience working with persons with disabilities, as well as previous customer service experience, would be considered an asset.
• Previous experience safely operating large vehicles would be considered an asset.
• This position is classified as Safety Sensitive and requires the completion of a satisfactory pre-employment drug screen.
