ABOUT STAFFING SOLUTIONS:
The Saint Elizabeth Staffing Solutions team provides temporary replacement staff to supplement the needs of hospitals requiring qualified short-term or long-term medical relief staff. We are a full-service medical staffing relief agency providing service across Ontario. A preferred supplier of nursing and personal support workers to hospitals throughout the GTA, we also support organizations across Ontario including Ottawa, Hamilton, Oakville, Mississauga, Brant and the surrounding areas. There is a minimum 3 shift per month commitment, allowing all employees to select their own schedule and hospitals of interest.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide direct patient care in a critical care setting
- Practice under the College of Nurses’ of Ontario Standards
- Represent SE Health policies and procedures
- Report directly to Facility Charge Nurse
- Submit time sheets to SE Health Staffing Solutions on a weekly basis
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a Level 3 ICU OR
- Minimum of 6 months experience working in a Level 3 ICU with a current Ontario Critical Care Certificate
- Current Advanced Care Cardiac Life Saving certification (ACLS)
- Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and judgement to independently provide care for patients per Provincial practice guidelines
- Organizational, prioritization, critical thinking, problem solving and teaching skills
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job required including the ability to stand, stoop, walk, bend, lift, push, pull and reach without and physical discomfort on a continuous basis; transferring patients with appropriate assistance and/or equipment and ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Demonstrated ability to meet the RN duties to the full scope of practice
- Proper Utilization of personal protective equipment (PPE) provided and identify and report hazards
- Availability to work, days, evenings, and weekends
- Able to work independently, or as part of a team
