Personal Support Workers Permanent Compensation Enhancement Program

The successful candidate will be entitled to an additional $3.00 hourly as legislated through the Personal Support Workers Permanent Compensation Enhancement Program by the Provincial Government.

 

POSITION SUMMARY: Under the general supervision of the Clinical Manager and the direction of the registered nurse on duty, participates as a member of a multidisciplinary care team in the provision of care for the residents.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Provides basic nursing care based on each resident’s developed care plan and within the framework of an established nursing program.
  2. Encourages and supports resident participation in activities of daily living.
  3. Provides input into the development and maintenance of resident care plans and participates in resident care conferences.
  4. Reports changes in residents’ physical and mental condition to the Registered Nurse and documents as per policy.
  5. Completes all required documentation including resident flow sheets.
  6. Participates in maintaining a safe environment for residents and staff, demonstrating an appropriate response to emergencies and safety procedures.
  7. Performs such other related duties as may be assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS : This position requires constant standing/walking; frequent squatting/crouching; unilateral lifting 1- 25 lbs. frequently, bilateral lifting 50+ lbs. frequently, 15 – 75 lbs. occasionally; push/pull 5 – 100 lbs. frequently.

Occasional = up to 33% of working day; Frequent = 34 – 66% of working day; Constant = 67 – 100% of working day.
