Job description
$24.50 / hour
Candidates must be a minimum age of 18 years old.

- Oversee daily activities of a small crew and ensure tasks are completed in a safe and timely manner.
- Operate existing park irrigation system to implement the turf irrigation program: ensuring maximum efficiency; appropriate schedules and application rates are applied as required.
- Troubleshoot/repair various system components (heads/valves/piping).
- Assist in the installation of the turf maintenance program (machine mowing, hand mowing and line trimming, seeding, sodding, backpack blowing and fertilizing).
- Oversee the fall shut down and winterizing of all irrigation systems, hoses and sprinkler heads using high pressure air compressor.
- Assist in pre-season (spring) and post-season (fall) site cleanup.

- A minimum of 2-5 years’ experience in the operation and maintenance of automated/manual commercial irrigation systems.
- Certified Irrigation Technician status (Landscape Ontario) or equivalent (an asset).
- Familiarity with plumbing techniques and materials as well as turf maintenance equipment operation and practices.
- Individuals who can provide their own CSA approved safety footwear.
- A valid Ontario Driver’s License (class G2/G).
- Availability that includes working 6:00 am-2:30 pm during the spring, summer and fall and possible shifts from 12 am to 9 am during the irrigation season (Monday-Friday) and occasional overtime and weekends.
