Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Human Resources Generalist to report to the Canada Human Resources Manager (Canada) within Shared Services in Cambridge Ontario. The Human Resources Generalist plays a pivotal role in supporting our Canadian workforce. For this reason, the best candidate will be experienced in fostering a positive work environment and contributing to the growth and success of a dynamic organization.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the Canada HR Manager to develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and initiatives that align with the company's overall objectives and values.
• Provide HR support to employees and managers, addressing inquiries and escalating to the HR Manager for direction to address concerns related to HR policies, benefits, and employee relations.
• Assist in the recruitment and selection process, including job postings, resume screening, interview coordination, and new hire onboarding.
• Support employee lifecycle processes including, but not limited to, performance management, promotions, transfers, and separations.
• Assist with compensation and benefits programs.
• Support diversity and inclusion initiatives within the organization, promoting a culture of equity and respect.
• Assist in organizing and facilitating training programs on various topics, such as anti-harassment, safety protocols, and professional development.
• Maintain accurate employee records and ensure compliance with relevant labor laws and regulations.
• Contribute to HR projects and initiatives that enhance the employee experience and drive continuous improvement.
• Handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism. ·

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• HR certification (e.g., CHRP) is a plus. ·
• 3+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing, construction, or industrial setting.
• Union experience a plus.
• Strong knowledge of HR laws, regulations, and best practices, particularly those related to employment, compensation, and workplace safety.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across all levels of the organization.
• Demonstrated experience in employee relations, conflict resolution, and coaching.
• Proficiency in HRIS systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant HR software applications.
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail in managing HR processes.
• Proven ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and business needs.
• Understanding of the fire safety and protection industry and/or construction industry is a plus.
