Manager, Tax

Fortis Inc. (FTS/NYSE: FTS) has an exciting opportunity available to join its team in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador in the role of Manager, Tax.

We are inviting applications from finance and tax focused individuals who can thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic workplace. Reporting to the Director, Treasury and Tax, the successful candidate will play an important role leading the organization's tax related work.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage all aspects of Canadian and international tax compliance;
• Oversee monthly tax provisions and quarterly reporting;
• Develop and implement tax planning strategies;
• Research and interpret tax laws and regulations to assess impact on the organization; and
• Coordinate with external auditors and tax authorities during tax audits and inquiries;

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field;
• Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation;
• Minimum of five years of experience in a tax managerial role;
• Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Excel; and
• Completion of the In-Depth Tax Program (IDTP) considered an asset.
