As part of the Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls Maintenance team at the Mactaquac Generating Station, the Technician II (Instrumentation & Control) is responsible for troubleshooting and performing corrective and preventative maintenance on plant equipment in a safe manner while in compliance with all laws, codes, policies and procedures.
Key functions include:
• Install, calibrate, troubleshoot and maintain electrical, instrumentation and control devices and equipment in a safe and timely manner.
• Provide collaborative support for technical problem-solving and directions on technical solutions. Troubleshoot various plant problems and electrical or pneumatic circuits using schematics, procedures, manuals or the internet.
• Work with operations, engineering, other departments, outside contractors and salespeople to improve operations and efficiency of the plants.
Our ideal teammate will have:
• Industrial Electrician Certificate of Qualification (CQ).
• Industrial Control Technology post-secondary diploma OR Instrumentation & Control Technician CQ.
• Three years of experience working in an industrial maintenance setting, which includes experience working with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), SCADA or other type of industrial control system(s) and troubleshooting electrical and instrumentation circuits using schematics, procedures, manuals, software, the internet and with suppliers.
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
An equivalent combination of training and experience will be considered. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be modified.
An Eligibility List generated from this competition may be used to fill future vacancies at the same level within a period of up to 12 months.
