Job description

Randstad Victoria is now seeking a Logistics and Purchasing Administrator to join a busy team in the food distribution industry. If you are a team player with knowledge & experience in a similar role, and are looking for a long term fit, we invite you to apply today!

Reporting to the Director or Operations and Finance, you will be maintaining the scheduling of products and shipments in conjunction with approved carriers to ensure product delivery complies with the company food safety and quality management system.

Advantages

Responsibilities
• Coordinate the transportation of products to various destinations and assess the performance of their transportation partners
• Efficiently and safely schedule daily shipments to ensure timely delivery to customers
• Establish and maintain communication with shipping companies and distributors
• Maintain precise records of shipping and distribution activities
• Share information on product stock receipts and shipments with the Purchasing & Planning team and Shipping/Receiving team

• Relay customer and distributor requests and modifications to the Shipping/Receiving teams
• Thoroughly complete and manage records that demonstrate compliance with food safety and quality requirements, particularly those related to traceability as mandated by SQF
• Generate monthly reports concerning intercompany transactions related to shipping
• Engage in and successfully complete all relevant training programs and materials to demonstrate competence

Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in a similar role with a proven track record
- Expertise in the company's products, methods, and processes
- Familiarity with alternative transportation options
- Proficiency in handling customer's receiving and logistics departments
- Knowledge of placing purchase orders (POs) with other companies
