Job description
BW Gold is a wholly owned subsidiary of Artemis Gold Inc (“Artemis”). Artemis is listed on the TSX Venture exchange, and is a well-financed, growth-oriented gold development company with strong financials aimed at creating shareholder value through the identification, acquisition, and development of gold properties in mining friendly jurisdictions. Our current focus is construction of the Blackwater Mine in central British Columbia approximately 160km southwest of Prince George and 450km northeast of Vancouver.

You will have the ability to make a significant contribution to the project team as the Company pursues the disciplined development of the Blackwater Mine. Artemis Gold received its BC Mines Act permit for Blackwater Mine in March 2023 enabling the project to move into major works construction.
Location: Blackwater Mine site - located 160 km southwest of Prince George, BC.
Schedule: Two (2) Weeks On – Two (2) Weeks Off Rotation
- Demonstrate effective safety leadership by addressing and enforcing BW Golds safety standards, procedures, and safety systems.
- Ensure site compliance with mining regulations and follow BW Gold safety, quality and environmental standards in all aspects of work
- Complete construction survey layout of dams, ponds, roads, corridors, slopes, pipe runs etc.
- Complete construction as-built surveys of civil structures, stockpiles, pipelines etc.
- Provide locates and demarcation for underground utilities, instrumentation etc.
- Produce volume calculations, as-builts, and designs in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Deswick CAD software.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and produce AutoCAD Civil 3D layout and material take-offs
- Operate survey drones and process drone data, hold or obtain required Transport Canada licensing
- Coordinate with BW Gold Project team, contractors, and other departments as necessary
- Attend regular team meetings and adhoc meetings
- Preferably 3-5 years of surveying experience working on heavy civil earthwork projects or a mining environment.
- Experience using Leica, Topcon or Trimble Geosystems Equipment
- Must possess effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making abilities
- Proficient with setting up base stations, survey equipment, and completing civil survey work
- Must be skilled in an unsupervised use of RTK GPS and Total Station systems including equipment setup and problem resolution
- Experience with operating drones to capture and analyze survey data is an asset
- Ability and willingness to split time between office and field
- Ability to drive in congested high traffic mining and construction areas
- Ability to walk in similar congested/high traffic construction areas as well as more remote areas on site (uneven footing is commonplace)
- Ability to frequently lift/carry survey gear (typically less than 20kgs)
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions
