Regional Manager of Clinical Services
Permanent Full Time
Location: TBD

Reporting to Senior Director Hospital & Clinical Services, this position is accountable for supervising, planning, organizing, developing, controlling, and coordinating clinical services within Labrador Grenfell Zone, Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services. This position will provide management and program support in accordance with provincial direction in areas including Ambulatory Care Clinics, Acute Care Social Work (discharge planning), Oncology, and Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC). Regular collaboration with physician leaders, nursing and other program leaders is required. Other duties include financial accountability, policy and standard development, Human Resource management, and review/response to concerns and occurrence/incident/accident reports. The ideal candidate is a proven leader with excellent leadership, communication, planning and organizational skills, a critical thinker with experience in quality improvement and risk management initiatives to promote optimal delivery of client care.

Qualifications:

" A baccalaureate prepared Nursing degree.
" Registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador.
" A minimum of five (5) years' experience in the above noted programs would be considered an asset.
" A minimum of two (2) years' management/supervisory experience.
" Proven ability to supervise, support, and guide staff.
" Leadership ability, strong interpersonal communication, and human relation skills.
" Strong oral and written communication skills are essential.
" Proven ability to work independently and exercise considerable judgment and initiative in performing duties.
" Successful completion of management education or willingness to complete (within timeframe designated by employer.
" The successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory certificate of conduct.

Duties and Responsibilities:

" Ensures the clinical competency and theoretical knowledge of staff throughout the region by organizing in-services, workshops, teleconferences, and other educational activities.
" Collaborates with team leads, coordinators and the Senior Director Hospital & Clinical Services to set goals and build outcomes for the programs.
" Evaluates programs and strategies to ensure the effectiveness.
" Provides leadership role to staff.
" Identifies resources and staffing needs throughout the zone within the programs of responsibility, assists in recruiting and conducts employee interviews.
" Ensures consistent operational coverage and program oversight of the Ambulatory Care, Acute Care Social Work, Oncology and IPAC
" Prepares performance evaluations and reviews attendance management as per policy guidelines.
" Recognizes cultural diversity and acts as a champion to ensure patients receive culturally safe care.
" Collects program related statistical information and conducts research to guide policy and procedure development as well as standards of practice from evidence based and best practice perspective.
" Attends meetings, teleconferences, and acts as a department representative as required.
" Assists in formulating, monitoring, and maintaining annual budget for service areas.
" Completes and submits reports (including budget variance) and ensures quality assurance activities are completed.
" Develops strategies to support frontline staff and maintain fiscal responsibilities.
" Supports and encourages reporting throughout the organization in CSRS, Vanessa Law, PIERS and Archibus.
" Other related duties as required.

Salary:
" In accordance with the HAY Management Pay Plan plus the applicable Labrador Allowance. Subject to classification.

Hours of Work:

" 70 hours Bi-weekly.
" Travel and on- call are required.
