Job Duties:

• Bag, box, or parcel purchases for customers at stores or for shipment and delivery to customers
• Carry customers’ purchases to parking lot and pack in customer’s vehicles
• Unpack products received by store and count, weigh, or sort items
• Price items according to price list
• Attach protective devices to products to protect against shoplifting
• Stock shelves and display areas
• Keep stock clean and in order
• Obtain articles for customers from shelf or stockroom
• Direct customers to location of articles sought and assist with inquiries
• May operate cash register and computer for electronic commerce transactions
• May order stock.
• Check products upon arrival for exterior damage
• Use barcode scanning equipment to record incoming stock, verify pricing and maintain computerized stock inventory
• Label and document orders, and prepare shipping, customs and courier documentation when required
• Enter, track and process customer orders and generate inventory reports
• May operate carts, dollies, forklifts, hand trucks, order pickers and other powered industrial trucks (PIT)
• May sweep aisles, dust display racks, and perform other general cleaning duties

Requirements

Education: Some secondary school is required

Experience: Experience in retail is an asset. On-the-job training will be provided

Driver’s license is an asset

Work conditions and Physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Attention to detail, Standing for extended periods, Work under pressure, Tight deadlines, Physically demanding, Repetitive tasks, Handling heavy loads walking, Bending crouching, kneeling

Weight Handling: Up to 23kg (50lbs)

Language: English is required

Salary: $16.00 hourly, 40 hours per week

Benefits: Profit Sharing (after 1000 hours worked), Health Benefits, Employee’s discount 10% and uniforms. Transportation cost covered if worker needs to relocate.

Important Information: Flexibility in schedule is required. During the first two months, workers will work 8-hour shifts, scheduled between 6:00 am to 9:00 pm. After this, the work schedule will be 9:00 pm – 6:00 am from Monday to Friday. Work on weekends and overtime may be required depending on the business needs. Overnights are required.
