Job Description Summary: This position is responsible for classifying and rating shipments and requires up-to-date knowledge of the Harmonized System (HS), Customs, and other Governmental Department requirements such as Tariff Rate quotas, Agriculture Permits etc. Job Description: LVS (Rating and one-stepping) ENTRIES • Prepares waybill entries documentation by selecting correct FTN account and applying transaction/barcodes to the file. • Performs waybill entries and transfers the files to AS400 system using NAFTA Query main screen • Creates B3 manually using H-S classifications codes, tariff treatments, CUSMA and LVS rating coding., etc. • Required WPM = 60 min. Maintains good knowledge of The Harmonized Item Description and Coding System Tariff book. Has good knowledge of various tariff treatments/agreements and GST exemptions and their codes. Understands SIMA, the difference between casual and commercial importations, and CIRO. CREATING FILES • (Waybill Step) Transfers files from NAFTA & Manifest Queries to AS400 system. Scans Entry documents. Rates/confirms LVS Files • Prepares LVS billing invoice. • Performs data entry or manual processing of invoices as required. CUSTOMER SUPPORT • Liaises with customers for missing H-S codes, invoices or to seek further clarifications • Collaborates with staff members from other FTNC offices on any system related issues • High School Diploma and CCS designation required • Minimum 2 years of experience with Transportation and Brokerage firm • Working knowledge of MS Office, Outlook, AS 400 and office equipment (fax machine / photocopiers / printers / scanners) • Excellent communication, organization, inter-personal and problem solving skills are required • Ability to interact with a wide range of customers, carriers and brokers Additional Information Posting Date: 07-March-2024 Closing Date: 03-20-2024 FTN Statement/Disclaimer Connecting people with goods, services, ideas and technologies creates opportunities that fuel innovation, energize businesses and lift communities to higher standards of living.
