Job description

This is a contract position for a UI Designer for our public sector client.
Work location: Downtown Toronto
Duration: Four Months
7.25 hours/day
This is a Hybrid role that requires the candidate to be onsite 2 days of the week (This is a mandatory requirement of the role and is non-negotiable outside of exceptional circumstances.)

Responsibilities
Create visual design solutions that address business requirements
Create screen layouts, interfaces, navigation components
Work closely with user experience (UX) designers and other design specialists
Ensure that every page and every step a user will experience in their interaction with the finished product will conform to the overall vision created by UX designers
Conceive and conduct user research, interviews and surveys, and translating them into sitemaps, user flows, customer journey maps, wireframes, mockups and prototypes

Qualifications
Communication Skills:
Able to communicate effectively with different stakeholders including clients, developers, and team members

Able to present and rationalize ideas

Problem Solving Skills:
Experience testing and iterating problems through usability testing
Able to make adjustments if the current solution isn’t working. Willing to try new approaches.

Research Skills:
Experience in using many research methods including surveys, usability test, interviews, A/B testing, card sorting, analytics tools, etc.

Design and Software Skills:
Experience in ensuring the design of complex digital services is easy to understand
Basic understanding of coding languages including Angular and Springboot
