Job Summary
- Underwriter / Underwriting Analyst - Calgary. This is a full-time position with salary compensation.
- The Underwriter’s main purpose is to provide guidelines to assess risks, and to ensure those guidelines are consistently followed by all, through audits, training, and individual support.
- As part of the underwriting and product development team, they also work closely with the Actuarial team to develop, implement, and maintain new products and rates. Proven Analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience using R, SQL or Python will be considered an asset.
- Analyzing rates, new products needed, changes to wording, assisting with the renewal process, and updating manuals are also important components of the job.
- General Agent Level 1 License by the Alberta Insurance Council is required, or to be obtained within 4 months from start of employment. CIP Designation will be considered an asset.
- The successful candidate will preferably have some Personal Lines Insurance experience in Alberta property, casualty, and automobile personal lines insurance.
- The successful candidate will have a strong attention to detail, with a solid comprehension of underwriting manuals, wordings, underwriting practices, and rates
- Intermediate Microsoft Office Skills (Outlook, Word, Excel…), with high level Excel skills considered an asset.
- IBS and Cognition+ experience will be considered an asset
