Description The
Decontamination Foreman plays a crucial role within a company specialized in decontamination and demolition works for building and/or civil engineering projects. Responsible for supervising and coordinating decontamination operations on construction sites, they ensure compliance with safety and quality standards while ensuring the efficiency of the work.
Responsibilities •Plan and coordinate decontamination operations on construction sites in collaboration with technicians and laborers. Develop effective strategies to ensure tasks are completed within specified deadlines.
•Supervise decontamination activities on the ground, including site preparation, handling of contaminated materials, and cleaning of work areas. Ensure that decontamination procedures are followed accurately.
•Mentor and lead teams of workers assigned to decontamination sites. Distribute tasks fairly and ensure effective communication to ensure team cohesion and productivity.
•Ensure that all decontamination operations are carried out in compliance with established safety standards. Implement preventive measures to minimize the risks of accidents and exposure to contaminants.
•Monitor the quality of decontamination work and ensure that quality standards are met. Conduct regular inspections to identify potential defects and implement corrective measures if necessary.
•Manage the material and human resources necessary for decontamination work. Ensure the availability of equipment and supplies required on construction sites.
•Maintain accurate records of decontamination activities, including progress reports, incident logs, and compliance documents. Prepare reports for management on progress and challenges encountered.
Requirements •Experience and advanced skills in team management and site planning.
•Excellent communication skills to ensure effective coordination with the team and other workers and professionals on construction sites.
•Certification or training in occupational health and safety, particularly in the handling of hazardous materials and risk prevention, is an asset.
•Experience in similar decontamination, civil engineering, or construction works is an asset.
•Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, such as lifting heavy loads and standing for long periods.
•A good understanding of decontamination standards and regulations on construction sites is an asset.
•Ability to work effectively in a team and follow supervisors' instructions while maintaining a positive attitude.
•Willingness to work on different construction sites and to adhere to variable schedules as required by the company.
