Wage Schedule: $31.380 - $36.180 per hour

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The DRCC Pharmacy Technician provides pharmacy services to oncology patients including: preparing safe and accurate sterile antineoplastic drug doses; preparing other dosage forms for use in the treatment of oncology patients; dispensing clinical trial medications as appropriate and dispensing outpatient prescriptions through the retail pharmacy service; assisting in the acquisition of drugs for the chemotherapy pharmacy satellite and retail pharmacy including maintaining adequate stock levels and conducting inventory, assisting patients in getting medication coverage and accessing compassionate drugs; other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Registration with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP) as a Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT);
- Graduate of a CCAPP (Canadian Council for Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs) Accredited Pharmacy Technician Education Program;
- Minimum 2 years experience in a hospital setting including sterile compounding is preferred;
- Recent experience in chemotherapy drug preparation and safe handling of antineoplastic agents is preferred;
- Knowledge of Epic is preferred;
- Proven working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word and Excel are preferred;
- Kroll computer experience and understanding of third party prescription billing is preferred;
- Proficient keyboarding skills;
- Proven effective interpersonal and communication skills;
- Demonstrated strong organizational skills involving ability to multi-task and prioritize workload;
- Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgement and to assess situations and problems efficiently and effectively;

- Must have a satisfactory performance record;
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and participation in regular in-service education sessions; and,
- Proven good attendance record with capability of maintaining this same standard.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and OPSEU Local 348
