Job description
Reporting to the Service Supervisor in Fort Mackay, Alberta, the Certified Journeyman Electrician will be responsible for the effective repair of mining equipment and equipment components, in the workshop and/or on client’s sites.
- Perform new and used machinery preparation, scheduled maintenance, repair or overhaul usually requiring component replacement, commissioning and adjustment of electrical and pneumatic equipment, including warranty upgrades.
- Troubleshoot, inspect and diagnose Liebherr machinery and components including electrical, helping mechanics with mechanical and hydraulic issues, A/C systems etc.
- Perform pre-delivery inspections of equipment and new & used equipment preparation.
- Occasionally helping mechanics perform servicing on Liebherr machinery as directed, including fluid checks, and sample pulling, oil and filter checks, changing lubricants, replacing filters, greasing machine lube points etc.
- Assist to ensure components, material and/or equipment is inspected, is corrected to specifications and ensure timely delivery programs are achieved.
- Ensure all final verifications specified in work instructions, scope of work, verbal communication and specifications are carried out and completeAccurate and timely submission of reports and technical document including service reports.
- Operate and maintain tools, equipment and work areas in accordance with company policies.
- Certified Journeyman Electrician.
- Experience with electric mining haul trucks.
- Diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities.
- Understanding of electrical systems.
- Proficient in interpreting schematics and drawings.
- High school education and basic math proficiency.
- Effective communication of complex information.
- Adherence to instructions and protocols.
- Holds a valid driver’s license.
- Please note this is a unionized position.
- 14/14 shifts (rotating between day and night) with overtime opportunities available.

- Wages starting from $60.88 to $69.08 and additional premiums for night shift.
