Job Description :
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Program Launch Director to assist in the development, launch, and delivery of the Master of Science in Emergency/Disaster Management program at the Vaughan campus of Niagara University. In advance of the launch of the program in January 2024, the successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring that the program's curriculum, learning outcomes, and related materials meet Ontario regulatory standards and align with industry demands. The successful candidate will also develop and lead a recruitment strategy for the program -b y creating public awareness of the program offering and by cultivating relationships with partner organizations.
Responsibilities:
- Working with faculty members and industry stakeholders, develop a complete program curriculum for Master of Science in Emergency/Disaster Management, including course map and individual course outlines.
- Develop measurable learning outcomes that are aligned with the PEQAB Program Content Standard and employer-demanded competencies.
- Incorporate Canadian content and Indigenous perspectives throughout the program.
- Compile all materials into a well-organized document that meets regulatory submission guidelines.
- Recruit 6-8 individuals for a Program Advisory Committee (PAC). This should include at least one academic from a partner institution and should contain a diverse range of industry professionals.
- Design and execute a recruitment strategy to yield an initial program cohort.
- Develop relationships with partner organizations for the purposes of student recruitment and creation of internship and employment opportunities.
- Deliver course(s) in the program and lead recruitment of additional faculty members.
Qualifications:
- PhD in a relevant discipline
- Proven experience in curriculum development, documentation, or related roles, preferably within an educational or academic setting.
- Strong understanding of educational standards, learning outcomes, and curriculum alignment.
- Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and concisely.
- Familiarity with Canadian educational standards and Indigenous perspectives is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar tools for document creation and formatting.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Collaborative and adaptable, with the ability to work effectively within a team and gather input from diverse stakeholders.
