Hatfield is seeking an experienced HR Manager to join our team. Reporting to our Leader of People and Culture, this position will play a key role in the day-to-day leadership for the HR team. This role includes the development and implementation of HR initiatives and programs including compensation design, HR systems enhancements, and HR generalist leadership in the areas such as employee relations and performance. The HR Manager will work closely with the Leader of People and Culture and collaborate with our leadership team to foster a positive and inclusive work environment and support the growth and development of our employees.Generalist Leadership
Act as a caring and trusted advisor to employees and management while providing guidance on people related issues, policies and procedures, and employee programs.
Promote a positive and inclusive culture and ensure a respectful environment for all employees.
Lead and work closely with a small team of highly motivated HR professionals. Support their development and aspirations through thoughtful collaboration and career planning.
Stay updated on federal and provincial (AB, BC) employment laws and regulations and make recommendations to leadership as needed.
Escalate issues as appropriate to the Leader of People and Culture for collaboration and input.
Compensation
In collaboration with the Leader of People and Culture and COO, lead the annual compensation processes for Hatfield.
Participate in annual compensation survey(s), analyze survey results, provide recommendations for benchmarking data, include market data in the annual compensation process.
Evaluate and recommend other compensation surveys for consideration in the annual process.
Elevate the compensation process through leadership training, system design (Dayforce Compensation), support to the organization, and executive reporting.
Performance
Lead the employee performance review process annually, including the implementation and roll out of a new performance system in 2024.
Collaborate internally to ensure a robust and thoughtful design.
Train Managers and Employees on the performance management process.
Enhance and grow the performance module as we mature our experience (documentation, notes, goal setting).
Provide metrics and KPIs to report on organizational compliance and provide data for decision-making and training recommendations.
Systems
Take the lead on fully utilizing our HR systems, its capabilities, and how to elevate the employee experience with technology. Identify and recommend system process improvements, improve upon workflows with a view for consistency and alignment across our organization.
Identify metrics and KPIs, using Dayforce and other inputs to help facilitate data driven decision making.
Other
Help develop and update HR policies and procedures to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
Contribute your expertise and passion to various ad-hoc projects.
8+ years of HR experience, in progressively senior HR roles.
Experience leading a small HR team.
5+ years related experience with compensation planning and design.
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration or related field.
CPHR designation is highly desirable.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 Suite, in particular MS Word, Excel Outlook, and SharePoint.
Experience with Dayforce and/or HRIS implementations is highly beneficial, including configuration, implementation, and reporting.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, as well as independently.
Analytical skills and the ability to provide sound judgement when problem solving.
Possess a growth mind set, with a positive “can do” attitude.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Exceptional project management and prioritization abilities.
High attention to detail required.
