Job Summary As the ITR Project Engineer, reporting to the ITR Fulfilment Manager you will be primarily responsible for supporting the ITR team in the execution of projects and orders. The Project Engineer will be a strongly technical role; you will amend, check or approve process and instrumentation diagrams, electrical, fabrication drawings and design specifications. You will provide process design for treatment applications including drinking water, wastewater, purification & disinfection, RO & ED, ultrapure water and boiler feed water. In addition, you will provide customers and internal teams with process support and optimize designs to increase productivity for the ITR organization. As a Project engineer you will participate and lead instrumentation and controls meetings and make changes to plant process controls as needed. For our field teams and customers, you will provide installation, troubleshooting, and repair support both remotely and on-site. As the technical contact for customers, you will participate in project status updates and design reviews with project managers and regional lifecycle managers. The Project Engineer will collaborate with the ITR Proposal Development team to improve the customer experience by using their technical expertise in mechanical, electrical, process, control, and instrumentation design to develop creative solutions for customers. You will provide support with sourcing of equipment, review equipment specifications and ensure proper equipment sizing. Key Characteristics - Ability to collaborate in and lead cross-functional project team discussions and client meetings.
- Proven ability to develop and follow procedures and standards, while extrapolating new concepts from established standards.
- Knowledge of and/or demonstrated ability to learn equipment and processes related to Veolia WTS products and systems.
Minimum requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Chemical, Environmental, Electrical, Mechanical, Computer) or related
- At least 5 years experience working with ZeeWeed or similar water treatment technology
Useful skills or abilities: - Note: The role requires the ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 30% of the time
- Excellent communication skills - analytical, written & verbal communication, facilitation, presentation, collaboration, documentation, etc.
- Strong engineering foundational knowledge
- Acute business acumen and understanding of organizational issues and challenges
- Proven people skills and the ability to work well within and across teams
- Ability to provide creative solutions to technical problems
- Ability to rapidly shift focus from one problem to another and maintain accuracy and efficiency
- Ability to handle evolving demands with good judgement and professionalism
- Experience leading teams
- Knowledge in ZeeWeed membrane process and operations considered an asset
- Self-motivated, able to work independently with minimal guidance, while also communicating effectively and efficiently in a team environment
- Understanding of drinking and wastewater process and chemistry
- Capable in interpreting electrical and mechanical engineered drawings
- Electrical or Instrumentation and Controls experience considered an asset
- Commissioning experience considered an asset
- PLC programming considered an asset
- Onsite experience working with ZeeWeed systems considered an asset
