ESTIMATOR
Cordeiro Roofing Ltd. has a challenging opportunity for an ambitious individual who possesses the initiative and willingness to work with our growing company. The successful candidate will join an existing estimating team and be responsible for cost estimates for Industrial, Commercial and Institutional Roofing & Sheet Metal Projects.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create complete and accurate Bid File in accordance with the tender submission – labour, equipment, material, rentals and subcontracts.
- Attend site meetings, field observations, measurements and photos.
- Obtain pricing from suppliers, sub-contractors and incorporate in estimate
- Prepare take-offs from construction specification where applicable
- Submit all Tenders on time.
- RFQ’s and RFI’s as required – creation/submission/negotiation.
- Prepare/review and edit contract documents
- Preside over contractual disputes
- Maintain files and correspondence on active and completed projects
- Provides technical support to field staff.
- Identify market opportunities
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum Post-Secondary Education in related industry (Architectural, Civil Engineering Construction Project Management)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a related industry- Commercial Roofing knowledge an asset
- Self-motivated, proven ability with scheduling and planning
- Proficiency in computer software applications (MS Office, MS Project, Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships using diplomacy and tact with Owners/Clients, Consultants & Engineers.
- Processes a strong attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure generated by short deadlines and flexibility in hours to meet deadlines.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal
- Health & Safety Knowledge
- Knowledge of spoken and written English
