Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Takes concise lecture notes and facilitates student participation in classroom activities.
  2. Ensures the classroom environment and educational activities are accessible to students with disabilities.
  3. Identifies problems with students’ accommodation plan and refers concerns to the Disability Services Advisor.
  4. Assists the student with using and troubleshooting adaptive equipment and software.
  5. Creates accessible documents for students with disabilities.
  6. Performs a variety of clerical duties such as word processing, filing, researching/compiling/summarizing/relaying information, appointment scheduling related to student accommodation planning and implementation.
  7. Compiles, reviews and updates information on the department website regarding relevant accessibility topics as requested by the Supervisor.
  8. Provides guiding for students.
  9. Acts as a reader and/or scribe for students as needed in exam settings.
  10. Performs other related duties as required.
