Engineering Manager (Dauphin, MB)
Job Summary:
The Engineer Manager is responsible for overseeing the engineering and quality departments along with managing
planned and unplanned maintenance to ensure efficient and repeatable manufacturing of products that meet customer requirements.
Responsibilities Include:
- Assign, coordinate, and review the creation of manufacturing plans for production parts
- Oversee the Quality department, assisting with both internal and external quality concerns
- Maintain shop floor drawings and specifications based on customer requirements
- Work with shop floor personnel to facilitate efficient production
- Manage planned and unplanned maintenance and assist with part sourcing when required
- Communicate with the Sales team and customers regarding suggested design changes and technical questions
- Oversee design/purchase of tools/fixtures to facilitate fabrication and ensure quality of production parts
- Create production processes that incorporate safety, quality and productivity
- Contribute to continuous improvement activities and special projects
- Participate in regular operations level meetings to provide and receive engineering support and feedback
- Oversee operations in engineering department by assigning tasks/projects and reviewing progress daily
- Assist with hiring, training, and annual reviews for individuals directly reporting to the manager
Qualifications and Skills:
- Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology or similar program
- Minimum two years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with CAD, Metrology, ERP, and robotic/CAM programming
- Working understanding of the ISO 9001 standard for quality management systems is an asset
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong ability to lead, manage and support team members
- Excellent time management skills and strong ability to direct resources appropriately
- Experience with email and Microsoft Office products
Work Schedule:
- 10 hours/day, Monday to Thursday (overtime as required)
