We are presently recruiting for a Senior Manager, Total Rewards to join our Area Rewards team and take become a valuable member of our local Canadian HR team. In this role, the Senior Manager Total Rewards will play a vital part of driving and implementing rewards programs, as well as providing technical expertise in job grading, total compensation planning, incentives programs, health and wellness initiative, and retirement and saving programs. Additionally, the Senior Manager Total Rewards will focus on developing Total Rewards solutions that gather the diverse needs of our workforce and promote diversity, inclusivity and overall well-being.

This position is based in Montreal (Saint-Laurent) and reports to the Director, Total Rewards Intercontinental (currently based in UK) and dotted line to Head of Human Resources, Canada. 

Key responsibilities:
•    Manage projects involving the design & delivery of Rewards programs and initiatives including initial administration and communications, closely managing the matrixed relationship with the business, Human Resources and Centers of Expertise.
•    Engage and consult with business HR, leaders and employees to develop Rewards solutions through stakeholder and project management. 
•    Develop and maintain total rewards policies and framework to support business objectives, in line with agreed guiding principles.
•    Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of our rewards programs to ensure they are aligned with our business and talent strategies and monitor local market trends, leverage level of services to make recommendations for changes, as appropriate.
•    Determine local competitive compensation benchmarking, and develop and modify compensation plans and ranges to support the development of compensation strategy.
•    Drive compensation calibration and alignment internally and to market, through the use of global grading system and country salary surveys.
•    Design models and conduct jobs evaluation, salary increases, and special salary plans to meet the company’s business objectives and desired retention strategy.
•    Administer and lead annual Rewards planning process. Support the organization along the path to developing a pay equity programs and maintenance that adheres to legal and compliance obligations across Canada.
•    Establish and maintain relationships with leading Rewards practitioners and consultants on best practice approaches, trends and strategies and legal obligations and compliance, act as primary lead with external consultants.
•    Lead the roll out, communication and ongoing administration of new and existing Rewards programs; ensure adequate resources are effectively trained.
•    Lead of Employee Benefits reviews, renewals, the business RFPs from providers when needed, ensuring high quality, sustainable and competitive benefits, lead senior-level meeting, representing Total Rewards Country Lead at internal and external meetings on related matters.
•    Leverage new communication tools and draft training documentation incorporating information from external providers, along with internally developed communication material.
•    Provide guidance and advice, liaising with functional finance, payroll and business analysts, and approve proposed or required modifications to the Workday system related to pension and savings programs, group insurance, or any other total rewards changes.
•    Serve as Project Manager for defining business requirements for Rewards projects and ensure service level agreements are met with delivery standards in compliance with the agreement.

Education/Experience Required:
•    Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Finance, Administration or a related field
•    8 to 10+ years of breadth of experience across in diverse HR functions at large complex environments, ideally with a minimum of 5 years in Total Rewards / Compensation & Benefits
o    A proven demonstrated ability ideally in the pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry and in an international matrix-based environment.
o    Experience in Pay Equity, Ontario Act, Pay transparency desirable.
•    Strong business Relations, project management, and technical proficiency in workplace technology & systems (e.g., Workday, meeting platforms, Microsoft Office, etc.)
•    Proven ability to drive organizational change.
•    Thorough understanding of compensation & benefit budgets and funding requirements
•    Demonstrated understanding of business cycles and needs
•    Familiarity with legislation pertaining to HR & TR practices and policies, as well as commercial operations in a workplace.

Essential skills & abilities:
•    English language fluency / business proficiency (oral and written). French language also desirable.
•    Naturally analytical and numerate, with strong systems and MS Excel & PowerPoint skills
•    Experience with HR systems, ideally Workday. Must be at ease with technology
•    Deep experience of Reward Survey methodologies
