Job Description:
The purpose of the Industrial Painter is to perform masking and painting operations for all displacers top mounting controls and mechanical and electronic units. Working at the Paint Booth or Shop floor to complete assigned duties as scheduled by the production system.
Surface to be painted must be dry and clean of rust scale welding flux or slag spatter grease oily film highgloss sheen and dirt which might interfere with paint adhesion.
Apply masking tape over parts and plug all openings that are not to be coated.
Thin and/or mix paint per instructions on the Product Specification Sheet.
Select and mixes coating liquid to produce the desired color according to specifications using a paddle or mechanical mixer.
Clean grease and dirt from the product using materials such as lacquer thinner or turpentine.
Remove any oil and dirt that may have been collected since cleaning.
Hang units on racks in a safe manner to dry.
Move completed stock orders to the proper inspection area.
Clean the spray gun paint fixtures and paint booth area at the end of each shift.
Change filters when necessary.
Maintain spray guns in proper working order and the cleanliness of the work area.
Store paints and thinners in proper safety cabinet.
Notify Supervisor or Lead Person when reorder point on the painting materials and supply are reached.
Other duties may be assigned.
REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSIDERATION
High school degree or equivalent.
Ability to read and write English.
Ability to add subtracts multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals
Ability to use the following: Power tools hand tools standard mechanical and electrical tools.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Proficient with officerelated software Microsoft Office preferred.
Ability to use mix and spray standard client paints according to instructions and specifications meeting all standards that apply.
