Horizontal Boring Mill Operator - Machinist Ticket REQUIRED This is a union role with a starting rate of $36.46/hour.

The Horizontal Boring Mill Operator will set up work and tooling on machining equipment and operations for CNC equipment such as boring, milling, turning, and drilling as well as other commonly used machine shop equipment with minimum supervision.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Set up work and tooling on machining equipment, and operations for CNC equipment such as boring, milling, turning, and drilling as well as other commonly used machine shop equipment with minimum supervision.
• Sharpen their own tools, interpret drawings, create manual program (Manual Data Input], edit CNC programs,
• Inspect machined product and features using appropriate Inspection, Measuring and Test equipment.
• Provide continuous improvement in machine operations {e.g., tooling life, surface speeds and feeds.)
• Cleaning and removing burrs after completed operations.
• Hold close tolerances and surface finish requirements.
• Exceptional teamwork skills and effective communication abilities
• A demonstrated history of good attendance and safe work record

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent mathematical skills including the ability to work with fractional measurements and decimals.

Education and Experience

• Ideal to have completed a recognized apprenticeship in the machinist’s trade.
• A high school diploma or GED equivalent and Machinist Ticket
• 5 years of machining experience with CNC Horizontal Boring Mills, CNC Lathe, CNC Mills.
