The career you’ve been looking for is waiting for you at General Motors of Canada. The RoleWe are currently looking for you to take on the role of Paint Residence Manufacturing Engineer based out of our CAMI Assembly plant.

In this role, you will get the chance to provide technical expertise, project coordination, on-site resource management and act as the single point of contact between the Plant and ME Vehicle Systems Engineering. What You’ll

Do (Responsibilities) ​Primary point of contact for Manufacturing Engineering (ME), Vehicle Systems (VS-Paint) management in the plant

Regular communication of plant performance and project execution status to VS-PaintSupport long-term sustainability / continuous improvement planning

Initiate and lead multiple projects to install or modify (incl. refurbish) new equipment and processes of varying size and scope (from budget approval and bid development through to start-up & debug)Manage asset condition reporting and refurbishment lifecycles, including re-use between sites

Lead plant-side annual Non-Product Portfolio (NPP) planning process

Support planning and execution of launch-related activities (new products, materials etc.)Perform regular Process Validation audits and report findings. Follow-up on corrective actions

Support special studies and surveys, providing in-plant perspective on capabilities, feasibility etc.Support plant-specific quality and throughput issues on the production floor as needed

Additional Job DescriptionYour Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications) ​ ​Bachelor's degree in engineering (Manufacturing/Mechanical preferred) or equivalent experience5 years minimum experience with paint-related equipment and processes

Broad and thorough knowledge of standards and regulations, tooling systems, engineering techniques, and manufacturing processes in functional area (Paint)Demonstrated organization, planning and project management skills

Demonstrated strategic decision making and leadership experience

Demonstrated high level of analytical ability and creativity where problems are unusual and difficult

Self-motivated with ability to initiate and apply innovative ideas and concepts

High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others to meet mutual goals

Demonstrated ability and willingness to work effectively in a manufacturing plant environment

What Can Give You a Competitive Advantage (Preferred Qualifications)Knowledge / training in GM project / financial reporting systems (ACAP, GPR, SAP, CMFC)Experience managing multiple large/complex projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Financial management & reporting experience for both operating and capital budgets
