Job description

Provide support for Community & Family Services donation program.

• Willingness to work within the mission, vision & values of The Salvation Army and Ridge Meadows Ministries
• Consistently demonstrate compassion, respect and empathy
• Support, where and when possible, the efforts of all clients and co-workers
• Provides donors, volunteers and clients with courteous and diplomatic service
• Ensures the safe and careful handling and pick up of all deliveries/donations
• Coordinate picking-up and distribution of non-monetary donations
• Organize, sort and restock supplies and non-monetary donations protecting integrity of supplies/donations
• May assist with delivery of school lunch bag program
• Maintain confidentially of client and or program information
• Takes responsibility for daily and overall safety, maintenance, operation of vehicle

Education/Certifications

• Current valid BC driver’s license and clean driving record
• Preference to those who have completed High School and have related experience
• Food Safe, CPR, First Aid and Non-Violent Crisis Training an asset

Experience:

• Team oriented and able to take initiative
• Ability to work with minimum supervision
• High standards of integrity, judgement and confidentiality
• Willingness to work with people from diverse cultural backgrounds

• Strong service ethic and a friendly disposition with the public
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to lift more than 18 kgs (40 lbs)
• Adaptability to change and frequent interruptions
• Knowledge and interest in the programs and services of The Salvation Army an asset
• Successful obtainment of clearance through the Criminal Records Review Program

HOURS:

• Casual on call
• As the need arises Monday to Friday

Successful candidates, prior to hiring, may be required to provide:

• Background check consent
• A clear vulnerable sector screening
• A clean drivers abstract
• Completion of our online Armatus Abuse Training and required Health and Safety training
