Expected Salary : $75,696.00 to $109,339.00

In this role, you will:
- Develop and maintain a technical understanding of the platform mechanical systems.
- Support the Team Lead in developing the Team’s understanding of platform mechanical systems.
- Interpret design and manufacturing drawings.
- Provide engineering support to the repair, maintenance and commissioning of platform systems.
- Provide engineering support to the Safe Release of Work for mechanical systems.
- Validate test procedures for the set to work of mechanical platform systems as part of an integrated review board.
- Evaluate results for testing carried out on mechanical platform systems as part of an integrated review board.
- Draft repair specifications, including technical drawing packs, for arising technical issues on the platform under the direct supervision of the responsible Sealing Professional Engineer.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders including the Customer’s representatives, Production Tradespeople, Project Management Teams, Quality Assurance and Supply Chain Departments.
- Perform other duties as necessary or as assigned.
The ideal candidate brings:
- Technologist Diploma from an accredited Canadian institute, or equivalent.
- Eligibility for registration as an Applied Science Technologist with ASTTBC.
- 8+ years of relevant experience including extensive marine experience with diesel engines, propulsion systems, heating, ventilation, high pressure pneumatics, hydraulics and air conditioning systems, chilled water-cooling systems.
- Extensive knowledge of pumps, motors, valves, compressors, bearings, shaft-lines, precision alignment methods, and blue fits.
- Extensive knowledge of Victoria Class Submarine mechanical and electrical systems is highly desirable.
- Marine, offshore oil and gas drilling or naval vessel experience, highly desirable.
- Strong computer skills including MS Office suite desirable.
- You are eligible for a Canadian Secret Security and ITAR Clearance.
