To support that challenge, the Branding and Operations team is currently seeking a Field Scientist - Horticulture .
This role is based at our Plattsville, ON research facility.
Duties:
- Oversee field efficacy studies in the assigned region, offering expert analysis and research to inform crop strategy through teamwork. Deliver reports and data for product registration and engage with local academic, government, and research entities.
- Validate digital tools and precision application equipment to generate electronic and digital data from research and development trials.
- Conduct field trials to test both conventional chemistries and biological alternatives that enhance cropping production in target crops.
- Gathering data on product performance and technology across soil types and climates, assessing environmental impact to guide soil health management.
Qualifications
- Masters in Science or Ph.D. in Pathology, Entomology, or any relevant discipline in the biology sciences.
- 2-3 years’ experience managing a crop protection field research program.
- Previous experience of working with horticultural crops (i.e., Potato, Ginseng, Fruit & Vegetables) and understanding of associated crop agronomy and pests in Eastern Canada is highly desirable.
- Excellent knowledge of operating field equipment (i.e., potato planter, tractor, sprayer, small-plot combine, etc.).
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
