We are recruiting on behalf of an iconic Canadian company in the hospitality and services industry. They are expanding their business and building out their team to oversee the accounting function, drive financial operations, continuously improve processes and controls, while driving revenue growth. This opportunity supports the CFO (CPA, CA), a strong mentor and leader who is growing their team to include high performing individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment where engagement, continuous learning and development are key factors to success.
Key responsibilities and oversight:
• Lead a large team including 3 Managers, providing coaching, development, and mentoring
• Develop and monitor business performance metrics including budgeting and forecasting
• Management reporting including commentary on strategic analysis, variances, and KPIs
• Present to executives on related reports, analysis, and completion of annual budget reporting
• Manage core finance processes, oversee accounting functions, and drive process improvement
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives and transformation platforms, incl. ERP implementation
• Manage and support special projects as assigned by the executive leadership team
The successful candidate will possess the following:
• Chartered Professional Accountant designation (CPA-CA or CPA)
• Minimum 3 years of industry leadership experience, plus experience in public accounting
• Managerial experience including coaching, mentorship and demonstrated leadership skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills along with excellent documentation skills
• Track record of initiating/driving change, curious mindset, and ownership of multiple deliverables
• Passion for process and continuous improvement to support various projects and initiatives
